The year ahead
The Ox sits directly opposite the Goat on the zodiac wheel, so 2027 is a clash year for you (冲太岁, 丑未冲). In BaZi a clash means movement. Ox and Goat are both Earth branches, and each is a storehouse; when storehouses clash, they open. Expect change around home, savings, property, or a job you have held for years. The Ox also forms one corner of the Ox, Dog and Goat punishment (丑戌未三刑), so almanacs place it in punishment with Tai Sui too (刑太岁), which adds friction around rules, contracts and paperwork. Clash years are restless, but they are not unlucky by default. Oxen who choose the change, a move, a new role, a planned renovation, often find the year easier than those who wait for it to arrive. The year's Fire also feeds your Earth, so good advice and real help are close by.
Career and money
Fire supports Earth, so mentors, training and qualifications are favoured. If you have been weighing a new role, 2027 gives you the push. A restructure or a manager leaving may unsettle you. Keep your record of achievements current, so any move happens on your terms. Avoid big speculative bets, especially in July, when the Goat month doubles the clash.
Love and relationships
The clash can show up at home: a partner who wants to move, family asking for more of your time, or an old pattern you both keep stepping around. Talk about it early and plainly. Single Oxen may meet someone who unsettles their routine in a good way. Give it time before you commit, and keep your own ground.
Health and energy
Clash years ask for care with travel and physical risk. Drive rested, warm up before exercise and treat small injuries properly. Chinese medicine links Earth to digestion, so regular meals and less late-night eating help more than you might expect.
What to watch
Watch for changes you did not choose turning into decisions made in a hurry. Before you sell property, resign or sign a lease, give it a week. Be careful with guarantees and co-signing. The Goat month (7 July to 7 August) is the most restless stretch, and the Dog month in October completes the Ox, Dog and Goat punishment, so read anything you sign then twice.
Best months
These months combine with the Ox. Use them for moves, contracts and asking for help.

Lucky colours, numbers and direction
- Colours
- Yellow and brown, then red and purple
- Numbers
- 5 and 10, then 2 and 7
- Direction
- North-northeastThe Sui Po (岁破), opposite Tai Sui, sits here in 2027. Treat it as your home seat, not a sector to renovate or dig in this year.
These follow the traditional associations. The colours and numbers belong to the Ox's element, Earth (土), and to Fire (火), the element that feeds it; the numbers come from the He Tu (河图). The direction is the Ox's own seat on the compass. The element your chart actually needs can differ, and that is what a personal reading works out.
Your animal is one of eight characters
A zodiac forecast reads your birth year alone. Your BaZi chart has four pillars, eight characters in all, and your day master, the element of the day you were born, usually says more about how 2027 treats you. Oracate builds your chart from your birth date and time and reads each day from it.

Questions
Why is 2027 a clash year for the Ox?
Ox (丑) and Goat (未) sit opposite each other on the twelve-branch wheel, which makes them a clash pair (丑未冲). In a Goat year, the Ox clashes with Tai Sui (冲太岁). Ox, Dog and Goat also form the three punishments (丑戌未三刑), so the Ox is in punishment with Tai Sui as well (刑太岁). In BaZi a clash means movement and change, and punishment means friction over rules and agreements. Neither means certain misfortune.
What do people traditionally do in a clash year?
Many visit a temple to pay respects to Tai Sui (拜太岁) around Lunar New Year. Some families plan a happy event, such as a wedding, a move or a new home, to answer the clash (冲喜). The custom is for a wedding or move already on the way, not a reason to rush a new relationship. Practically, choose your changes rather than waiting for them.
Am I an Ox if I was born in January 1986?
Yes. Lunar New Year 1986 fell on 9 February, so a January 1986 birthday belongs to the Ox year that began in 1985. BaZi switches years at Li Chun instead, on 4 February 1986, so birthdays from 4 to 8 February 1986 are an Ox by the lunar calendar and a Tiger in a BaZi chart.
