Comparison
Oracate vs Co–Star vs The Pattern: Which Astrology App Fits You?
Co–Star and The Pattern are both built on Western astrology: Co–Star for birth charts, real-time transits and following friends, The Pattern for personality, relationships and timing cycles. Oracate is for people who also want Chinese metaphysics, combining Western astrology with BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu in one daily reading with your best hours to act. If you only want Western astrology and a social feed, Co–Star or The Pattern may suit you better.

Co–Star
Co–Star describes itself as an astrology app that uses NASA data and the methods of professional astrologers to generate insights about who you are and how you relate to others. It builds a full birth chart from where and when you were born, gives real-time insights as the planets move, and lets you keep track of friends and see how you relate to them. It runs on iOS and Android, with a natal chart you can get online.
It fits you if you want Western astrology with a short, direct daily voice and a social side built around your friends.
The Pattern
The Pattern describes itself as a personalised astrology app that helps you understand the patterns shaping your life and relationships. It covers personality insights, relationship dynamics with partners, friends and family, timing and transits, and daily guidance. Its Time Travel feature looks up the astrology of any past, present or future date, and Connect introduces you to new people based on compatibility.
It fits you if you want long-form reflection on your personality and relationships, grounded in Western astrology.
Oracate
Oracate builds three charts from your birth date, time and place: Western astrology, BaZi (the Four Pillars) and Zi Wei Dou Shu. It reads each day from all three and gives your best hours to act. Premium adds Auspicious Timing for picking dates, a Monthly Timing Brief and Compatibility Lab. Optional palm or face photos add another layer.
A free account shows a short preview of each day's reading. Daily Unlimited is S$9.99 a month and Premium is S$15.99 a month, both month to month.
It fits you if you grew up with Chinese metaphysics, or are curious about it, and want it read alongside Western astrology rather than in a separate app.
What about dedicated BaZi apps and practitioners?
Dedicated BaZi chart apps and calculators are good at laying out your Four Pillars, and a practitioner consultation gives you a person who can answer follow-up questions about your chart. Oracate sits between the two: an interpreted reading every day rather than a one-off session, and all three systems rather than BaZi alone.
If you only want your chart, our free BaZi calculator shows your Four Pillars, Day Master and element count with no account.

Questions
Is there a Co–Star alternative that includes BaZi?
Oracate is one. It reads your Western birth chart together with your BaZi Four Pillars and Zi Wei Dou Shu chart, while Co–Star's public site describes Western astrology only.
What is the difference between Co–Star and The Pattern?
Both use Western astrology. Co–Star's site leads with birth charts, real-time transits and following friends. The Pattern's site leads with personality and relationship insights, timing cycles, Time Travel through past and future dates, and Connect for meeting new people.
Which app is best for Chinese astrology?
If you want Chinese metaphysics read every day alongside Western astrology, Oracate combines BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu with it. If you only want your BaZi chart, a calculator such as Oracate's free BaZi calculator is enough. For an in-depth one-off reading, a practitioner is the better choice.
Is Oracate a replacement for a BaZi practitioner?
No. A practitioner can answer follow-up questions and look at your situation in depth. Oracate gives you an interpreted daily reading of your chart, which is a different thing: steady context for everyday decisions rather than a single session.
How much does Oracate cost compared with these apps?
Oracate has a free account with a short daily preview. Daily Unlimited is S$9.99 a month and Premium is S$15.99 a month, both month to month. Check Co–Star's and The Pattern's own app store listings for their current prices, which can change.
Can I use more than one?
Yes. Many people keep a Western astrology app for its community and use Oracate for the BaZi and timing side. The apps don't share data, so each one needs your birth details.
Want BaZi read alongside your birth chart?
Oracate reads each day from your Western, BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu charts, built from one set of birth details, with your best hours to act.
